Cherry wood is perhaps the most popular hardwood furniture in America and the favorite of wood workers and fine-furniture makers. This easy to work with wood starts with a light golden pink tone that begins to turn a rich reddish-brown as it’s exposed to light. It has a fine to medium smooth closed grain texture that is usually straight or subtly wavey. Cherry wood has a Janka scale rating of 995.
