Maple Wide-Plank Flooring

Distinguishing Characteristics of Maple Wide-Plank Flooring:

Maple wood is grown abundantly in Vermont and the state tree of 4 different states. With a Janka scale rating of 1450, maple wood is incredibly strong and durable. It has a smooth grain pattern that is generally straight but may be slightly wavey, with a fine even texture. It's light off-white creamy color makes it stain very nicely. It has some beautiful pitch flecks and mineral streaks that add some reddish-brown hues. Since maple is a highly dense wood, it is less susceptible to dents, but the subtle grain and light colors may allow scratches to be seen easier giving it a worn and loved look to it.
